Dr Rishav Koirala is a psychiatrist and researcher with over a decade of clinical and academic experience. He is the Executive Director of the Brain and Neuroscience Center Nepal and a pioneer of psycho-oncology in Nepal, having established the country's first psycho-oncology unit at Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center in 2016. He has since expanded services to National Cancer Hospital and Kathmandu Cancer Center and is currently integrating psycho-oncological care at Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, a government run cancer hospital. Dr. Koirala actively promotes psycho-oncology in national and international forums and has contributed to key publications, including the DSM-5-TR Cross-Cutting Cultural Review and psycho-oncology research guidelines.
