Home to around one million people, the city is surrounded by a diverse range of landscapes , including green parkland, the Mount Lofty Ranges and coastal beaches.
Twenty is the magic number when it comes to Adelaide. You can be in the city centre within 20 minutes from the airport. Or you can sink into sandy beaches, hike in the hills, and dine among the vines, all within 20 minutes of the central business district.
The Traditional Owners of the Adelaide region are the Kaurna people. The area of the city centre and surrounding Park Lands is called Tarndanya in the Kaurna language. It is divided into two parts, Adelaide and North Adelaide, separated by the Torrens River.
Further afield, the Fleurieu Peninsula is celebrated for its stunning coastline and acclaimed wine regions, explore the outback in the vast landscape of the Flinders Ranges, take a short flight to the seafood capital of Australia, Port Lincoln, or indulge in a luxury escape on the world renowned Kangaroo Island.
When you visit, make sure you leave enough time to experience the city and explore its stunning surrounds.
