Dr Pernille Bidstrup

Dr. Bidstrup is a psychologist with a PhD in health science. She is heading a research team on Psychological Aspects of Cancer at the Danish Cancer Institute in Copenhagen Denmark. Her team focus on both adults and children with cancer, but also on their families and they are dedicated to document psychological consequences of cancer using nationwide Danish registries, and on testing new support in RCTs. Examples of her work includes the development of the FAMOS therapy program, which in a nationwide RCT was effective for families of children with cancer and the development of the REBECCA nurse navigation program targeting psychologically distressed breast cancer patients which was also tested in a large RCT. In ongoing multicenter studies, she is e.g. testing nurse navigation in vulnerable lung cancer patients (NAVIGATE RCT study) and therapy for families of children in palliative care (SOFUS feasibility study). She is active in the IPOS Survivorship SIG where she has been heading a review on implementation studies in psychooncology and is now also co-leading the Implementation SIG together with Dr. Carmen Loiselle.
