Associate Professor Aaron Hansen is Acting Medical Director of the Division of Cancer Services at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane and a senior medical oncologist. He completed his MBBS at the University of Queensland in 2004 and specialized in medical oncology at Princess Alexandra Hospital, followed by a fellowship in drug development at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada. After serving as a staff oncologist and lead for genitourinary cancers at Princess Margaret, he returned to Brisbane while remaining involved with the US National Cancer Institute's Recurrent Metastatic Head and Neck Cancer Taskforce. He was co-chair of the Head and Neck Disease Site at the Canadian Clinical Trials Group. He is an associate professor at the University of Queensland. His career focuses on clinical trials, education and mentorship. A/Prof Hansen has led numerous clinical trials, published over 220 papers, and received multiple research awards. He is recognized internationally for his expertise in drug development and solid tumors.
